The National Cabinet approves $6.5M for National basketball team World Cup debut.
The national cabinet on Friday approved the release of $6.5 millions to help the team prepare for their maiden debut in the FIBA World Cup in Asia later this year. The fund will be released by the Ministry of Finance and Planning after the cabinet approved the request from the Ministry of Youth and Sport.
Shortly after the weekly Cabinet meeting which is conducted every Friday, Information Minister Michael Makuei Lueth told journalists in Juba that he wants the team to come back home with the trophy.
The South Sudan' s Basketball team made history as the first young nation to qualify for the FIBA World Cup which is scheduled to take place later this year. The Cup will be co-hosted by three Asian countries , Japan, Indonesia and The Philippines.
